Michael’s career in Sales, Sales Leadership and General Management has been through working with Corporates such as Dunlop-Slazenger, Hanimex and Taubmans, before owning two SMBs and building an expertise in Management Consulting and Sales Training.

In the past 20 years Michael has delivered over 200 Sales training Programs around the world, with such companies as AON in Singapore and Hong Kong, IBM in Brazil and China, Google in Hawaii and Sydney, NRI FinTech in India, Avery Dennison in Sri Lanka and Mincom in Brisbane and Chile.

He has also worked extensively with a wide range of SMBs throughout Australia, New Zealand, India and South East Asia.

In addition he has been a strategic management consultant with various SMBs in Australia.

Michael's experience with SMBs

Having founded and owned his family business, ML Sporting Goods, in the 1980s, with 10 staff and revenue of some $3 million, and owned another SMB, Skills Farm, from 2002 to 2008, with 8 to 10 staff plus consultants and a revenue of $5million, Michael’s experience in dealing with every aspect of small business is invaluable.

As an example, Michael has recently completed a 20-month engagement which resulted in the successful turnaround of a small family business in the country which in the F/Y 2018 had losses of over $200,000, in 2019 achieved Breakeven, and in 2020 is on track to have a profit of over $300,000.  He led the re-invention of every aspect of this Company’s business by changing the product range and the market offering, by reducing the inventory holding, by closing their retail arm, by challenging the sales and marketing approach, by helping with the financial management, and most importantly helping to rebuild the belief, confidence and morale of the family members, the owners. Michael is strong, positive, encouraging, challenging, dedicated and empathetic.
